We are asking all New Yorkers, all adoptees, and all allies for adoptee equality to contact Governor Andrew Cuomo to make a simple request:
Dear Governor Cuomo:
I support A9959B, a bill in the New York Assembly that will restore the right of adult adoptees to obtain their own original birth certificates. We look to your leadership to enact equal rights legislation on your watch. It’s time to get it right. It’s time to make it equal. Enact equality with A9959B.
You can contact Governor Cuomo in three ways:
Phone: Call 1-518-474-8390. You can leave a recorded message or ask to be connected to Governor Cuomo’s staff to provide a message. Ask that Governor Cuomo support the enactment of A9959B, the adoptee rights bill. A suggested message is above but you can also modify your own message.
Online Contact Form: You can email a message here, leaving your contact information and address. You can copy the statement above or provide your own, but make sure you ask that Governor Cuomo support A9959B and assure its passage this session.
