Call Senate Health Committee members NOW to request a DO PASS vote on S3419.
The New York Assembly Health Committee recommended passage today of A5494, a bill that would end 83 years of iron-clad secrecy over birth certificates of adopted persons.
Assembly Bill A5494, which has 90 sponsors, is expected to be reported favorably out of committee. A press conference with NYARC representatives and New York Assembly members will follow.
NYARC has received endorsements of the Weprin-Montgomery Bill from prominent birth/first parent groups and individuals.
Every adopted person should have the right to obtain an OBC if they so choose. What they then do with it is up to them.
