The New York State Senate overwhelmingly approved a bill on Monday that would end 83 years of iron-clad state secrecy over the birth certificates of adult adopted persons.
It will take the leadership of Assembly Speaker Carl E. Heastie to get A5494 out of committee and to the Assembly floor for a vote.
