Action Alert: Ask Senator Lanza to Support S5169A

February 12, 2018 By New York Adoptee Rights Coalition

ACTION ALERT: We are asking all New York adoptees and their allies to contact Senator Andrew J. Lanza to make a simple request, as follows:

Dear Senator Lanza:

I appreciate your strong advocacy for adoptee rights. Please work with Senator Tony Avella to get Senate Bill S5169A passed. Senator Avella has assured New York adoptees of his commitment to this bill and I am committed to S5169A as well. Please let me know your position on this issue.

You can contact Senator Lanza in three ways:

Email: Email Senator Lanza at this email address: [email protected]. Make sure you leave your contact information and address, if applicable. You can copy the statement above or provide your own, but make sure you ask Senator Lanza to support S5169A, the bill currently sponsored by his colleague Senator Avella. It is also important to request a response from Senator Lanza with his position on the issue.

Phone: Call (718) 984-4073 (Staten Island) or (518) 455-3215 (Albany). When you speak with Senator Lanza’s staff, thank Senator Lanza for his support of adoptee rights and ask respectfully that he support Senator Avella’s bill (S5169A), which you also support. You should also ask that the Senator get back to you with his position on this issue.

Fax: Fax a letter to Senator Lanza at this fax number: (718) 984-4455. You can use the suggested statement above or provide or personalize your own, but make sure you ask Senator Lanza to support S5169A, the bill currently sponsored by Senator Avella. It is also important to request a response from Senator Lanza with his position on the issue.

Please share this action alert widely. We must assure that adoptee voices are heard. Senator Lanza is a supporter of adoptee rights but we are requesting that he work with and support Senator Avella’s bill on this issue.
